Our favorite Mozy account is, of course, Mozy Free! Mozy gives you a free 2GB account, with no credit card or any type of trial offer. Its that simple, just sign-up and get your free 2GB. This is great if you want to backup a small amount of critical data, or just experiment to see if the Mozy Service is good for you. You get full featured access to the Mozy backup desktop solution, but you don't get all the bells and whistles you get with the other Mozy Home or Mozy Pro accounts. You can still access all your data remotely or through the mobile apps, but you don't get any support or technical assistance if you have problems. Mozy Home Review

MozyHome is just like the MozyFree account, except that you get a major upgrade in Space for only $5.95-$9.95 a month. That gives you 50-125 GB of backup space, the mobile app file access, remote access, Mozy 2x protect, and more. Lets break down the features in more detail.

MozyHome Best Features (Pros)

• Simple, set and forget backup. This, like most other services, is essential and works great..
• Use your own encryption key. This makes your data super secure, so even Mozy staff cannot see your files.
• Super simple restore. We like this feature a lot, because if you ever lose a file, you can just click on it in your MozyHome desktop software, and it will restore the file to the exact SAME location is was before. Very easy to use.
• Mozy 2xProtect. Right now, too bad its only available for Windows users, but this feature lets you simultaneously back up your computer onto an external Hard Drive and to the Mozy Cloud. Cool!
• Backs up Open/Locked files (like Outlook PST files). Some other companies only offer this with their "Pro" software versions, with Mozy, you get it in the Home version too.

Things Mozy could Improve (Cons)

While we love Mozy and think their features are some of the best-in-class features available for backup software, the main downside is the pricing and storage limits. While $9.95 a month is very reasonable, the 125 GB it comes with is just not enough for some users. Sure, you can get more space at a rate of $2 for 20GB, which isn't bad, but if you need 500GB off backup space, Mozy is just going to be too costly for most users (that's $48 a month). Still, if you need 50-250 Gigabytes of space, Mozy has some of the best features available, and is a smart choice for a lot of users who don't need to backup mountains of photos or videos.

Mozy Review Conclusion

In conclusion, we give Mozy 3.5 stars. If Mozy could offer 1 TB package that was $50 a month or less, we would give them 5 stars. So what do we recommend? If your backup needs are in the 50-250GB range, then we think Mozy should be one of your top choices. Their combination of features, data security, and mobile apps makes them a powerful choice for consumers.
